Holiday Card Holders
A few years ago, a good friend of mine gave me a cute painted frame with some wire and clothes pins. She included a bunch of cute photos of me and her, our friends, and special times together. It was such a touching and beautiful gift.
This got me thinking. . . what a wonderful and easy gift idea OR a quick project to display your holiday cards this coming season. And, once the holidays are over, what a nice way to display photos the rest of the year.
There are a few tools you will need to complete this project: A frame, plyers, picture frame wire, eye-hooks and clothes pins.
Step #1: Choose a picture frame.
Many of us have old pictures or frames laying around. If you don’t come on down to Heirlooms because we have a bunch! Take out the old photo and glass and just use the frame.
Step #2: Paint the frame.
Choose your favorite color of Annie Sloan ® chalk paint and paint the frame.
Step #3: Attach eye-hooks.
Screw the eye-hooks into the back of the frame at even intervals along the sides and top.
Step #4: Add wire.
Take picture wire and weave it between the eye-hooks to make a square pattern inside the frame. Be sure to loop it back on the top for a place to hang the frame.
Step #5: Attach photos or holiday cards using clothes pins.
You can find small clothes pins in the craft section or use the regular sized ones, too. Take the clothes pins and pin up your holiday cards or photos.
If you aren’t a “do-it-yourselfer” you can purchase these holiday card holders at Charmed by Heirlooms. These make great gifts for your friends and family too! Embellish your frame with special memories as my friend did. I was so honored to receive such a thoughtful gift!
